All good things, again
I know I've used the title "All good things" before, but it's worth using again for today.
First of all, it's been a while since the Marmoset or I posted anything. We know, we suck. However, the good news runneth over today, so I thought I'd share some of it:
1. I recently placed in a Short Story Competition. The contest was hosted by Tales of Future Past, an extremely interesting online collection of old science fiction and predictions about the future. Maybe this will motivate my lazy ass into writing more (both here and elsewhere).
My story was one of the three finalists, but in the interest of keeping our relative anonymity, I won't tell you which one is me. (HINT: I wrote one of the two that don't suck.) If you're reading this, however, chances are you know me personally and this isn't much of a mystery anyway.
2. They're making a Reno 911! movie. It's currently being written by series co-creators Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney (aka Junior, Dangle, and Trudy, respectively) and called "Reno911: Miami". Glory, glory Hallelujah.
3. Finally, I am currently enjoying my final Friday as an employee of Big Midwestern University (BMU). I will start next month with a far better institution in a far better place. This means my postings might be a little more infrequent as Frau and I make our transition, but I'll stay on top of writing. Honest.
The sad news for today is that the great Lou Rawls has died. "You'll Never Find" has been running in the back of my head all day since I heard. Also, Super Smokers BBQ has gone out of business, though I can't imagine how. I should hit the store and stock up on their sauce before word gets out in Columbia.
